Example of Gradebook Averaging

If your grades aren't averaging correctly in Teacher Access Center (TAC) gradebook, please try the following suggestions:

1. Make sure that the grades are entered correctly for each student.

2. Make sure there are no blanks for assignments/assessments that will be included in the average. The gradebook will average the blanks as zeros.

3. Locate the vertical blue line (indicated by the arrows in the image) in gradebook. This line represents the current date.

Understand the position of assignments:

  • Assignments to the LEFT of the blue line have due dates in the past or today.
  • Assignments to the RIGHT of the blue line are future assignments.

Only grades to the LEFT of the blue line are averaged. Grades entered for assignments that are to the right (in the future) will not be included in the average until their due date passes and they move left of the blue line.
