Principal Use Only Physical Security - How do I request security footage?

Michael Molitor

Last Update a month ago

Note: By default, most systems are set to a 30-day retention period, after which the oldest footage is overwritten. To prevent an incident from being deleted, you must submit a Security Footage Request form along with an Incident IQ ticket.

WARNING: Only Campus Principals are authorized to request security footage. All requests submitted by other staff members will be automatically denied.

Steps to request security footage:

1. Accessing the Security Footage Request Form

Navigate to the following URL:https://bit.ly/FootageRequest

2. Accessing the Incident IQ Ticket

Navigate to the following URL:https://bit.ly/iiQTickets

Important Considerations

1. Retention Policy: Most security footage is only stored for a limited period (often 15–30 days). Requests should be submitted as soon as possible after an incident.

2. Confidentiality: Security footage often contains sensitive student information protected by FERPA. Footage is generally not released directly to parents or third parties; it is reviewed by administrators or law enforcement.

3. Public Information Requests: If you are a member of the public (not a district employee) seeking footage, you may need to file a formal Public Information Act (PIA) request through the Aldine ISD Legal Department.
